History

ZenRobotics Ltd., founded in 2007, is a Finnish high-tech company specializing in robotic recycling technology. Building on the scientific work of Dr Harri Valpola’s neuro robotic research group at Aalto University, the company has developed the world’s first robotic recycling system.

Initial market research for the machine learning technology in 2008 resulted in a number of high-profile projects for various industries. The customers included e.g. Teollisuuden Voima (TVO) (Nuclear plant fuel bundle order optimization) Sandvik Mining & Construction (novel R&D analysis tool for drilling equipment), and Ekokem Ltd (Predicting peak CO levels in toxic waste incineration).

After this period ZenRobotics decided to concentrate quickly on robotic recycling, and the rest is… Ummm… History!
